The Guest of Honour also touched on the global energy transition that the world is currently facing, where there is a heightened desire to find an alternative source for sustainable development while also being conscious of limiting and mitigating environmental impacts to sustain future generations. He further added that the Ministry will also be looking into encouraging oil and gas operators in the upstream energy sector to minimize wastage and reduce emissions through green practices.
The event concluded with a dialogue session between the participating youth and the panelists in which the youth shared their views, opinions and concerns on the environment and climate change mitigation.
The Green Leaders Camp was first held in 2014 with its key discussions centered on the environment, eco-friendly tourism, marine ecosystem protection, sustainable farming and Agrifood.
